//Throughout this module I have learnt many things about solo performance. I have learnt about style, atmosphere, indulgence, art and ways of shaping performance spaces. Solo performance is a type of performance which:
“…the solo can be seen as the quintessential form of performance. The audience’s relationship to the soloist is undivided, gratifying the performer’s deepest desires not only to be seen but to be the center (sic) of attention” (Carroll, 1979, 51).
//In the first few weeks of the module, one of our group members did a presentation on Tim Crouch. We were presented with excerpts from two of his performances My Arm (2003) and An Oak Tree (2003). Both performances play around with the conventions of performance.

//To help construct our ideas for our solo performance, we began thinking about how we would shape our performance space. We were given an automatic writing task with a template as follows:
Lights go black
Empty Chair in the corner
Spotlight from the side

//We began our journey into Solo Performance by choosing an artist we would like to do a presentation on. I chose Will Eno who wrote Thom Pain (Based on Nothing) (2004).
